Hi to everyone! How are things back home? I have been here since 1/8 and i miss home n you guys already .... :rubeyes Currently i am staying in Coimbatore ... somewhere south of india :mellow Weather here same like malaysia except that it's very cool in the evening .... 25 deg C and about 32 in the day. Traffic in india is crazy. Have been to Trichy and Tirupur apart from Coimbatore. Once you hope into your vehicle be it motorbike or car, 3 wheeler or bus/truck etc ... ahem except bullock carts, you honk all the way to your destination ..... honk ... honk ...honk. :wacko Yeah ..... you have to honk to warn each other ..... especially pedestrians on the road ... they just walk anywhere. Vehicles can just come out from nowhere n most roads are single lanes n everyone tries to over take each other all the time ...... talking about impatient drivers! BTW 2.5 innova is quite popular here. No avanza tho. Food? :deem I am on 100% vegetarian ... i mean 100% vegetables n spices. I miss our local food :fulltears My husband's treatment is getting on very well n i have lost quite a fair bit of weight too. Yeah ... my pants are dropping :lol3: You guys will see a different me when i get back to kl end of next month :boo Will talk again when i get to use internet again. Where i stay no tv :ghost ...... so pretty boring with nothing much to do. Cant speak their lingo so difficult to go anywhere on our own. |

Back here we are having a TT at The Mines in conjuction with Malaysia Road Safety Exhibition, the response is encouraging. See you next month. Take care. Regards. |

Nice to hear that both of you are progressing well. I have also been to southern India, Spel factory in Chennai on business trip. The curry is not bad but end up having diarrhoea . Cows a few on the street. Along the kampong roadside were many low tent houses where the occupants have to crawl in. One thing surprise me. In Malaysia we can see stray dogs running along the roadside. Over there kampong area is very common to see wild boar running around the roadside :wacko |

the week passed without much incident about riot or anything related to their elections. Results shud be out this week. so have to play safe and not wonder about. In a week or so will be going to chennai with my hubby to see the cancer specialist ... one of our vallalar devotees. Trip by train n takes about 9hrs so going n coing back in the night mail. Will be only a day there cos my hubby cannot just simply eat anything from the restaurant or so and also take his medication. There other action here is the H1N1 which has started to spread quickly. In coimbatore there are a few cases. Going to channei must wear mask cos the train station there is very packed with trains coming in from all over. Apart from being home sick and missing my kids, I miss the food and chilli padi and soya sauce :ghost :fulltears .... and ASTRO, AOCM and my avanza. Mr siew is driving around here w/out a international licence :wacko Police dont bother to stop anyone unless some trouble or so. Sometimes I wonder all those drivers here got licence or not :unsure :lol3: |

for me time is moving rather slowly :sleepy2 :sleepy ..... no tv no internet :deem have been here for 24days already and life is pretty monotonous .... everyday doing the same thing. Very tempted to hop on the bus and go gallavanting around town. Every thurs evening we will go to Gandhipuram .... town centre of Coimbatore, for prayers and monday morning to distribute cooked rice to the homeless, old n handicapped. There are many displaced old folks here. Everyday our Vallalar centre will prepare 200packets of cooked rice. Feel very sad to see so many sleeping along the road sides. Find many around bus stations and at the gates of the numerous temples. Mind you there are so many temples here ranging from big ones and tiny ones. Recently their govt has requested all these temples and their trustees to declare their accounts cos many of these 'unauthorised' temples fleece away the money donated by the devotees. <_< Food ..... :rubeyes hari2 sama ingredients and almost sama menu. mana boleh tahan lama. But looking at those people we distrubute food to, we count our blessings and are thankful that we have 3 meals a day at the minimum whereas theirs ..... heaven knows when is their next meal. :mellow Local vege and fruits are pretty cheap here. I find most expensive is the tissue box and toilets tissues. I just bought a pack of 4 rolls toilet tissue at Rp190 <RM7.70=Rp100> but the quality is :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup want to koyak also need to use some strength :lol3: Basically daily necessities <indian std requirements to survive> are pretty cheap like veges, onions, garlic. 1 young coconut cost Rp5 where as KL is about RM2.50 :huh Daily shopping for veges is less than Rp50 that works out to be RM3.35 for 3 meals .... cook 1 time for 3 meals since eating same thing :rolleyes My favourite is the home made chapati eat with curd mix with bawang besar and gula melaka granules :thumbup The other day i had an overdose of bawang besar <raw ones> so you can imagine what happended that whole day .... pooot :ph43r :lol3: |
