hi all, for this coming 5th GTT, i and my family would like to go round Peninsula Malaysia in 5 days. 31/may-1/june: malacca 1/june-2/june: kl 2/june-3/june: cherating 3/june-4/june:pulau redang what i need is the info on interesting place/sight seeing to visit in selangor/pahang/trengganu/kelantan that are along my journey back to penang. i've place "?" on 2/june-4/june as i still yet to decide which place to stay. so the more inputs i get, it will make this journey a memorable one for my family. if there's more interesting places to accomplish then i'll be able to extend me journey as i'm on holiday for the whole of next week. i would like to thanks for any input. Bro Vulcan, There are many places of interest in Klang Valley, you may choose from shopping centres for ladies to theme parks for family or outings. I can guide you around if the timing doesn't crash with my appointment. |

hi bros and sis, since my itinerary for the below dates yet to be fillled and my thoughts are that as below: 2/june-3/june: cherating 3/june-4/june: pulau redang i choose cherating as to do back track to our 3rd GTT venue as i didn't attend it and never been to east coast Malaysia all my life till now. what do you guys and gals opinion? any recommendation on reasonable and good hotel for accommodation? i heard of pulau redang and its beach from my friends and some of them do enjoy it. again to get accomodation might be difficult during this peak season. any recommendation? |

I have drove to Pulau Redang twice. Bro Canary meet me in the place I stay in Terengganu town. If you wish to put a night in Terengganu, this place not bad, quite new and resonable price where they renovate bungalow to be a hotel resthouse type. Name: 3M Resthouse GPS : N 05°19.362' E103°08.401 You have to board the ferry to Pulau Redang near Merang Jetty and the GPS coordinates are : N5°31.996 E102°56.841 (Jetty to Pulau Redang) For all the affordable hotel there, Redang Bay is the best comparing to cleaniness. Get the family unit coz it is big and floor are tiles type. Check out their website for price and jetty ferry timing. Edited by alvin, May 30 2009, 01:20 PM.

basically my trip was made possible with ease having some helps in the form of teamwork from aocm members. listed below are the people that i would like to thank on helping me in one way or another: 1. bro ken: for his gps unit. the gps unit proved to be handy in emergency case like when i tried to located suria hotel at 8pm at night when reached KB. it took me about 5 mins to drive to destination. 2. bro sk: for his contact person in impiana cherating. this saved me about rm100 for she managed to give me a corporate rate. 3. bro maxtrem: for sharing his knowledge on places to eat at KB and his experience of Gerik Highway which enable me to have some infos about it as i'm using it on my way back to PG as "road less travel". 4. bro adi: for his contact on bro maxtrem in KB. 5. bro markerman/bro ongkh: for taking us to eat malacca famous chicken rice ball and a tour of malacca town by the next day of 5th GTT. 6. bro ongkh: for taking me and few members to visit menara taming sari at 11pm after GTT event and wheel of malacca view in close-up. last but no least to my family for weathering with me together through the whole journey. it's a tough one having to catch every destination on time with the worst been from cherating to KB. i'll share on my mileage later. |

it's very tiring to accomplish this personal mission. the last six days are without raining and driving under hot sun most of time. this can really make people sick. yes, i'll need some rest to recovery before going back to work on Monday. |

while travelling taking up a lot of my time to accomplish this personal journey, on the lighter side I hope to make my family happy by taking them to few places of interest mostly in KL and would like to thank Ken's GPS unit for it really helps to shorter my journey time from one place to another. places visited: 1. National Monument(Tugu Negara) 2. Parliament House(to have a close up look on the building, but no entry) 3. National Planetarium(watched movie on "SOS save our earth" on its doom type screen 4. National Museum 5. Pavilion, KL(for my spouse shopping) 6. Petronas Twin Towers(visited Dino Trek 2 and Petrosains) for my kids. 7. Turtle sanctuary(next to Club Med) (Tried to go to Aquaria KLCC but jamming and no parking. Aborted the plan.) |
