I will strongly advise you to send your car back to Toyota workshop to get the dented parts(e.g. bumper, rear door, paint etc) replaced with the original part from Toyota itself, on top you get 1 year workmanship & parts warranty. After all it is covered by insurance. In my claim for Rear door, bumper, reverse sensor, paint, labor & adjustor fee etc cost ~RM5,000/=. I think your could be >RM6,000/=. For insurance claim, please call up Toyota whether your current insurance is one of their panel insurances or not. If yes, then easier. The panel insurance will pay upfront for all the damage quoted by ToyotaТs independent adjuster and claim the other party later. If your car insurance is not ToyotaТs panel insurance, then you need to pay upfront & do some runner job (or employ someone to do the runner job). Stuff needed for insurance claim includeЕ 1. Police Report of all parties (Original copy) 2. JPJ car registration details of all parties (Original copy) 3. Police Sketch plan (Original copy) 4. Police letter showing party at fault (Original copy) 5. AdjusterТs report with photographs (Original copy) 6. AdjusterТs Bill (Original copy) 7. AdjusterТs Receipt (Original copy) 8. WorkshopТs bill (Original copy) 9. Vehicle insurance certificate (Photostat copy) 10. Vehicle Road tax disc (Photostat copy) 11. Vehicle registration card (Photostat copy) 12. InsurenТs identify card and driving license (Photostat copy) 13. JPJ Receipt (Original copy) 14. Police report receipt (Original copy) 15. Taxi Receipt (Original copy) for getting to work. Otherwise RM ~30/= per day The risk of getting outside workshop to do the job includeЕ 1. Installed with imitation part (e.g. Bumper which is thinner and easily crack for minor hit) 2. Hairline develop on the bumper after long expose to sun light etc. 3. Cover-up works 4. Poor after sales service. If you have difficulty to claim from the 3rd carТs insurance (for whatever reason) , then you can consider to claim your own insurance cause your insurance will be claimed by the 1st car (if he is seriously wanted to claim from your insurance for minor scratch) and NCB will gone too.
