That's very terrible news to cope with. We have to cope with so many feelings such as anguish, sadness and hopefulness. No word can adequately describe how Cikgu is feeling right now. I just hope Cikgu and his family can brace through these difficult days to come. Remember when we are on the road, speed sometimes don't kill us but would hurt others and so is carelessness. |

Hi :D really a bad news for me in the 'chicken " year, hope there will be a better year tomorrow :D Thanks for yours caring, not only many posting up here, I also got many calls and SMSs from our members :D :)  This is the story ........ Last Wednesday night ( around 8.15 pm ), my mother and her friend was standing at the side of the road, suddenly a motorbike knocked both of them ( they said the rider was drunk ) , her friend got light injury but my mother nearly lost her left foot. Although it just a small accident, but don't know how my mother left leg bones , fibilia and tibia near the ankle were shatters, all the muscles at that side were torn, the left foot nearly seperated from her left legs, only some skin and nerves still connecing to the left leg. She also got some minor injury at her head, hands and the back. She was sent to the Taiping GH by ambulance, after some treatment and taking X-ray, she was admited to emergency wad. After that, nothing be done :( .When I asked when the operation will be held, they can't give me a sure answer :( . Seem my mother case can't be delay any more, I straight away discharge my mother from the GH and called a private medical centre to sent their ambulance to take her to their medical centre. May be the injury was too serious, in 45 minutes from she arrived the medical centre, the orthopedic specialist, anesthetic doctor, operation theater officer and nurse and also the X-ray report, all were ready and stanby for the operation. The operation started at 1 am and finished at 3 am. The operation done successfully, after under monitor for a few days in the medical centre, she was allow to discharge today. After that follow up every 10 days, at least 2 months the leg cannot touch the ground. Temporary all things settle down and under control, but there will be another long story for her to recover <_< Again Thanks for the warm caring and cheers for the friendship here  |

hi ken, your action in getting your mom shifted from GH to private hospital(which one is that?) seems to be fruitful and is a correct action having understand the seriousness/critical condition she was in. is a good moves man...I'm NOT saying GH is no good but need to queue but time just did permited to do so. may your mom has fast recovery. |

glad to hear that your mom is out already, wish her a fast recovery back home.. sometimes, going to a private hospital maybe better, and as proven it was a good choice.. :) i think after two months, she will need to light exercises on the leg?.... keep up the good work CIKGU KEN.. :) :) |

Glad to hear that she was discharge. I guess she need longer time to recover with her age. My grandmum ever have bone cracked (falled down) before and the doctor gave her one kind of medicine that could help to rebuild bone faster, quite expensive though. Around RM3-5 per pil. Can she move on her own? Your family members certainly need a lot of patience to take care of her. A wheel chair is helpful to bring her around the bed room, living room and wash room. Get her a laptop with some 'games' loaded like mahjong could be a good entertaining program for her. Just make sure she don't get into those online casino will do :P Just kidding. ;) Good Luck! |
